Halloween draws near, and Vicki’s behavior is becoming more and more dangerous as she struggles to keep her dark side hidden. Stefan has no other choice but to help Vicki control her lust for blood, and Elena tries in vain to keep Jeremy away from Vicky. Caroline gives Bonnie something to wear for the costume party – a necklace, which apparently helps Bonnie to repel Damon after he tries to take it back.

Bonnie learns from her grandmother that she belongs to a long line of voodoo witches. Matt tries to cheer Vicki up, but makes a huge mistake by taking her to the high school’s haunted house, and as evening sets in, Vicki gives in to her insatiable thirst for blood.
