Stefan reveals to Elena his past: Stefan and Damon both loved Katherine, and she turned them both to a vampire. Damon is trapped inside the house with Vicki during the day, and they feed off each other as he has changed her into a vampire.

Stefan learns of the transformation that she is about to take and convinces her not to feed on human blood, something that would complete the transformation. Damon saves Stefan who was shot by Logan with a wooden bullet, but Vicki feeds on Logan and completes her transformation. Stefan tells Elena, and she decides that the secret is worth keeping, but breaks up the relationship.
