The Vampire Diaries 2.12 “The Descent” Review

Submitted by on January 30, 2011 2 Comments

Here is a recap of what happened in the recent episode of “The Vampire Diaries” entitled “The Descent”.

It looks like Damon Salvatore is keeping a secret. It is definitely not about him loving Elena and also not about him being surprised with the hatred of Rose. With the recent episode, looks like Damon is longing for what he used to be for the past months, being human. It is recalled that when he was indeed human, he actually hated what he was. So it was surprising that Damon finally revealed his long kept secret.

The Descent

With the start of the 2011 episode of “The Vampire Diaries”, three dead bodies of campers were found. Stefan’s shirtless body was also found as well as a female who is in the blink of hanging to life. It looks like the woman is the new sex slave of Damon.

The story did not moved that fast but there were notable pacing within the episode. One is between Stefan and Katherine which looks like Stefan is pulling Katherine to build up some tolerance for him. Also, it looks like Rose is enjoying spending time with humans and taking advantage of it by promoting it to Elena.

Another heightening story is the love triangle between the vampire, the human and the werewolf. A very unusual love triangle that viewers are not used to see. This is one thing unique about the storyline of the show.

“The Descent” episode also welcomes John Gilbert back. Hopefully, his comeback will mean better stories for the show. Viewers need to cross their fingers for this.

Overall, this episode of “The Vampire Diaries” revolves mainly around Rose. There are not many details about Rose from the past episodes, so this is her time to shine. The pain she is suffering from the werewolf bite is extended. This is all relevant with the existing war between the vampires and the werewolves.

There is so much to watch out for in the upcoming episodes of “The Vampire Diaries”.
