There are just so many high points in this episode that processing them would take some time. Although it did look at some point that too many major things were happening at the same time with different people. One would even think that the network had decided to shut the show down and the writers had decided to cram as much as they could into a one episode time slot.

But things later paced themselves out and gave a certain direction to everything that was happening. Other none vampire characters in Mystic Falls played some key roles in what happened in this episode. Dark-laric resorted to use the police force to hunt down Damon while Sheriff Forbes and the Mayor dropped it on Tyler and Caroline that they had to flee the town.

Things were happening everywhere as Rebekah put up an appearance while Matt set out to drug his ex and Elena must have done some mischief to have that bounce in her heels so early in the day. She chose Stefan. Another major thing here is that she is now a vampire. This would naturally be something to keep fans of the show wishing their three months hiatus before season 4 comes along would fly by. This in a way would have made up for her going back and forth between the brothers all this while.

How her new self will be like is something fans would be waiting to digest. There are just so many issues to watch out for and a couple of them are potent enough to break her new found relationship with Stefan.

Another major event was the death of Dark-laric. It was an epic moment as it dawned on both him and Damon his killer. There was a time as they clashed that it really looked like the writers had planned to get Damon killed. But this would be the second time that Alaric would be dying. There may be some degree of permanence to this one though because since he turned dark, he had not been featured as regularly as before. It was as if they wanted to create a disconnect between him and the fans because of what they had planned to happen so that when it did, the impact would be measured.

Bonnie had to make some hard choices one of which was to save Klaus. He is an Original and she did it not for Klaus but for her loved ones. They would have died if he had been killed. But she switched his body with Tyler. Does this then mean that Tyler is now dead or are they both sharing the body?

Fans would be hoping for Caroline’s sake that Tyler isn’t dead.

Gillies who plays Elijah on the series will be there to restore order.

Talking to an entertainment news website Gillies recently told: “There’s a hot mess in Mystic Falls. It’s a hot mess! We need a little Elijah to restore some order.”

Promising “some tragedy” the actor told the finale episode of the season is going to be both promising and heartbreaking.

He added: “[The finale is] just going to rock the foundation of the fandom. It’s stunning what the writers have done. I love what (executive producer) Julie Plec has done.

“I’m as eager as the fans to see how it evolves,” he continued. “It’s deeply tragic. You can expect some tragedy. That’s all I can really say. Whatever’s happening with this group of people is about to be changed forever.”

It started quickly enough and they started the show with the Rebekah and Caroline having a face off. But it was quickly interrupted with the Dark-claric breaking into the scene with murderous intent. He attacked Rebekah and was unfazed by the stake he was pierced with. What Caroline got for her troubles was a broken neck.

The issue of Caroline even dying raised some questions. Should she be killed or not is a question Elena did not have on her mind as she was more preoccupied with something more pressing. Dark-claric was out to cause some major damage and he had to be stopped. It was a good thing that she figured out that he was connected to Abby.

And that is one good thing fans were greeted with as Abby made an appearance. But the issue here was more then having him killed because he was hunting vampires and he is such a classic villain in that he has a moral cloak and has some sense that justice or rightness is on his side. He was after all interested in cleaning the town off what he considers the vampire scourge that is around. In more ways than one he is right but you can’t tell that to fans of the show since the show is all about the vampires.

Like we said before, they had to kill him or else the whole vampires would be in danger and Elena discovered that he was tied to Abby. But when Abby did make the appearance, they could not just kill him like as they had to specially desiccate him like Abby did to Mikael. But what fans got to know also was that he could have been killed in another way. This other way would have been more dramatic because all he had to die to simply die was for Elena to die.

But Elena did not even consider this option; naturally and they had to do the desiccation. As they got to know that he was tied to Elena; Stefan, Damon and Tyler were also tied to Klaus although that brought its own shocker in the episode. The other big thing that happened in the show was the death of Klaus. Klaus got to know only too late that Tyler was not tied to his blood anymore. It looked as if Bonnie’s magic worked.

All Klaus ever wanted was attention. He wanted to escape with his family and still retain the power of making more but it was an episode that bid a momentary farewell to a character that has carried the show well. It was an interesting episode.

The episode will feature Alaric (Matt Davis) abducting Caroline (Candice Accola) to use her as bait for Elena (Nina Dobrev).

Talking to an entertainment news website, he said: “The very first thing we see at the head of the next episode is Alaric in the high school. Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Caroline are having a little post-dance cleanup and things only get worse from there.

“It’s a very, very extreme, hardcore episode of Alaric on the tear and no-one is safe.”

Assuring fans, the showrunner also said Davis’ return would not be Alaric’s departure from the series.

He said: “My hope is that Matt Davis gets everything he wants in the form of this new show. But also that we get everything we want and he wants, which is an eternity of Alaric in our world.”

Determined to protect his sister, Jeremy makes a decision that will change everything. In the harsh reality of the present situation, Elena longs for simpler times when her parents, Grayson and Miranda, and Aunt Jenna were still alive and her biggest concern was her relationship with Matt.

Stefan and Damon leave Mystic Falls together on a mission, but soon split up when Elena needs one of them. Caroline and Tyler are forced to make a life-changing decision. Finally, Bonnie makes a secret deal that has heartbreaking consequences.

As for the best scene that occurred in this installment of The Vampire Diaries, or can even be considered one of best scenes in the history of The Vampire Diaries, this scene left us speechless and shocked. This scene involved Alaric, being at the cave with having all of the lit torches around him while being surrounded by all of his loved ones. The beauty of this scene was on so many levels, the setup, the effects, the acting and the shooting. It had all the ingredients needed for an amazing scene. It was really the best “goodbye” scene to a beloved characters, one of the best farewells we even scene on The Vampire Diaries. Although no one wanted him dead, but we all knew that it was going to happen for two reasons, first one is storyline wise, and secondly, knowing that Alaric, or shall we say Matt Davis has signed on for Cult which would leave him with no time for The Vampire Diaries.

Then, the shocker, he didn’t die, despite all of our believes and certainty that he is going to departure the show, he is still alive, he even became a more evil creature who is much blood hungry and disturbing variation of Alaric.

There is a problem though with all of this, Esther is being portrayed as this immortal powerful creature, they are giving us the feelings that whatever happens, she can’t die or be killed, and the fact that she can easily possess anybody she wants to adds to her power. It seems like a glitch in the storyline, how they will end it. The only problem with The Vampire Diaries is that death isn’t eternal, it doesn’t stick, people die, become ghost, and then they get revived. They need to respect death a bit more. Also it was very fascinating seeing how Esther would nurture Alaric with the ideas of being a vampire hunter every time he dies and pays her a visit on the other side.

And lastly, the love triangle between Stefan, Damon and Elena, it was played to perfection this episode, as it wasn’t forced or pushed down our throats like each episode. She seems not knowing who to go with and who the safer choice is, and of course safe is hard to judge when surrounded with immortals, vampires and creatures coming from the dead.

The exec said that Damon and Elena are still been drawn to each other but Elena is still holding back. She said that she holds back because they have been through a lot together and not all of them were really good. She said that Elena is confused.

On the other side is Stefan who is Damon‘s brother and at some point both of them will begin to loose patience with her. Stefan is played by Paul Wesley. She said that the brothers would allow her to come to a decision. But she said that the season finale would have Elena making a definitive choice. But she said that she may not even choose any.

The conversation between the brothers would do a lot to help smooth the relationship between them but they would also talk about what her choice would do to them.

The woman has kept Damon wondering over her next move. He can’t figure out if she wants to play it safe with Stefan, or wants to take a risk and come to him.

It doesn’t make an easy choice when you are faced with the task of choosing one of the blood-sucking siblings. One of the brothers have hair belonging to the Smithsonian era and the other has an enticing smirk which he uses to captivate his prey. It’s a hard decision.

She knows who she wants to be with, it is the guy who poses a mortal danger to her existence. This is a conundrum. She is aware of it. So is Stefan. And so is Damon. Even Rose knows it and she makes no attempt to hide the fact.

In the most annoying part of the episode Rose goes about explaining (obviously to viewers) everything as if we were watching the series for the first time. The writers can do a favour by showing at least some faith in the viewers’ intelligence.

Elsewhere Julie and the rest of the team creates an impression as if they were all waiting for Elena to take the big decision. That’s fine but it would make a better, more entertaining watch if the characters had something more meaningful to do instead of just whiling away until something comes out of the love triangle. The writers must understand too much emphasis on the relationship triad is only making the whole storyline more annoying.

The virus of love doesn’t stop at Elena and Damon. It spreads to infect Tyler and Caroline. They make passionate love to each other and then Caroline moves on to thinking about wooing Klaus. This makes Tyler angry but Caroline remains adamant. Watching all this drama unfold, one cannot help but wonder, what artefact could sex-obsessed Caroline and Klaus gift Tyler?

Fortunately the Iaric and Alaric storyline was a great relieve. Blood spews this week as the confrontation between Davis’ alternate persona and Stefan become more intense. It was the most entertaining part of the episode.

We also learn more about Alaric. He is not a bad guy and he has sacrificed a lot in order to fulfil in dream of being a vampire hunter; his wife Jenna a proof of it.

With the conclusion of this episode, the groups are finally lining up for the ultimate showdown. Also, it could be that Iaric and Esther may be forming a team against the Salvatores and Originals. Nonetheless it’s not certain.

We end with a hope that next week’s ‘Do No Go Gentle’ will not be devoted exclusively to love. Let there be some action!

She said that Caroline sees him as a completely selfish person who has ruined the lives of people she loves. But she still is intrigued enough with him to the point where it affects her relationship with Tyler played by Michael Trevino when he comes around. The fact that she is allowing him to come into her space will produce some conflicting moments that Tyler would be attentive to.

She said that her character’s reunion with Tyler would need time for both to become comfortable. She said that he is totally unaware if anything had been going on between her and Klaus or whatever feeling they have towards each other. But it is when they are together in the same room that it would have to be dealt with.

It has been hinted that Klaus could possibly be killed in the season finale.

As events spiral out of control, Elena is determined to protect Damon, Stefan and Caroline, so she enlist Tyler’s help, while Bonnie and Jeremy take a terrifying risk to make sure her spell is effective. Damon and Stefan have a surprisingly candid conversation about the future.
